Filibuster Rye represents a rye Renaissance! Our ""Dual Cask Rye"" is bursting with fruit and spice from carefully selected new American white oak barrels and then rested for 60 days in wine seasoned French Oak casks to achieve our signature smoothness.
Appearance: Deep Amber
Aroma:Cinnamon bark, oak spice and tropical fruit play off of more classic Caramel and Vanillin aromas.
Taste:Very Rich and soft texture, Spice, Caramel, Honey and hints of Rye toast.
Finish:Warm and creamy, notes of baked apple, very long.

Filibuster Dual Cask Rye follows in the footsteps of their popular Bourbon. This multi-award-winner does is aging in new American oak, and then is finished French oak casks that previously held White Wine. And while we like what that finishing does to the Bourbon, we LOVE what it does to the Rye. It coaxes out new aromatic esters that make the Rye taste silky and spicy at the same time — which is an impressive feet when your mash bill is 95% rye and 5% malted barley and you’re bottled at 45% ABV.

The nose begins with an aroma of orange peel, followed by a lively parade of black pepper, rye spice, cardamom, and tilled earth, then sweeter back notes of molasses and cinnamon stick. There's pleasant heat and spice on the palate, starting with black pepper and then chocolate, powdered-sugar French toast, orange, treacle, cooked apple, and allspice. A lengthy, toasty, chocolaty finish, with another pleasant note of orange and some peppery spice.
