The La Torre 2023 Rosso di Montalcino comes in at a lower aromatic threshold, with mild fruit and cherry flavors. Vintner Luigi Antonio Anan?a tells me that mildew pressure (and lower yields) made it harder for the fruit to reach alcoholic ripening. Tasted now, the wine is delicate and fragile with pretty cherry tones and silky tannins.
