Ghislaine Barthod Chatelots Chambolle Musigny is a distinguished wine from the esteemed Burgundy region of France. The Les Chatelots vineyard is positioned just above Aux Combottes on the slope, directly below the village of Chambolle-Musigny, and flanked by the premier crus Les Feusselottes and Les Gruenchers. Barthod’s ownership of a mere quarter hectare of 25-year-old vines here ensures a wine of pronounced earthiness and powerful structure.
This wine’s nose reveals a delightful blend of red fruits, including cherries, blood orange, and red plums, complemented by raw cocoa, a lovely base of soil tones, and a touch of vanillin oak. On the palate, Ghislaine Barthod Chatelots Chambolle Musigny is deep, pure, and sappy at the core, offering a full-bodied experience with exceptional focus and grip. The fine-grained tannins contribute to a long, tangy, and complex finish, making this wine a remarkable expression of Chambolle-Musigny’s terroir
There is fruit concentration on the the nose with an attractive black currant, wild strawerry and briar scents. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe black cherry and strawberry fruit, fine mineralite and quite a deep, lightly grippy finish. Very fine.
