This wine is made from almost 100% old vine Grenache. The vines are more than 100 years of age. The terroir is sandy soils from vines planted in Les Bedines, Les Font du Loup, la and Pigna and Les Saintes Vierges.
Blend: 80% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre and less than 1% Clairette Rose
Concentrated blend of 80% Grenache & 20% Mourv?dre. It's intoxicating on the nose, suggesting fresh strawberry marked by truffle and fur. Palate-quenching mulberry and black-cherry flavors are framed by fine, velvet tannins & lingering complexities of earth and barnyard. Gorgeous already it is nuanced enough to improve through 2040.
Made by Sebastien Cuscusa, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape checks in as 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvèdre brought up in a mix of concrete tanks and demi-muids. Solid aromatics of red and black fruits, ground pepper, earth, and spring flowers all emerge from the glass and it’s impressive on the palate, with medium to full-bodied richness, a seamless texture, and a great finish. It shows the charming, front-end loaded style of the vintage yet has the balance to evolve for 10-12 years.
