Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay
Deutz Description
The Deutz Brut Classic is the very soul of the Deutz champagne house. Born of a blend of several years’ grape harvests, every year a variable proportion of reserve wine (between 20 and 40%) is incorporated to ensure the regularity, complexity and individuality of the Deutz style. It’s composed of one third Pinot Noir, one third Chardonnay and one third Pinot Meunier, and derives its harmony from the quality of the grapes (97% on the scale of growths), and careful parcel selection (between 20 and 30 all from the Marne area).
James Suckling: 93 Points
Very attractive nose of lemon blossom, tarte au citron and lemon curd. Very elegant and delicate with an inner strength that doesn't make this at all loud. I love the interplay of the fine mousse and citrusy fruit on the medium-bodied palate. Long finish with subtle spicy notes. 39% chardonnay, 31% pinot noir and 30% pinot meunier
Wine Spectator: 93 Points
Bright and harmonious, with a fine, creamy bead and finely woven flavors of currant, biscuit, preserved lemon and pickled ginger. The plush finish echoes a note of smoke-tinged minerality.
