Bushmills Distillery Reserve is a special 12yr old release that's previously only been made available at the Bushmills Distillery itself. Matured mainly in former Spanish Olorosy sherry casks which lend a deep amber color and wonderful dried fruit aromas to this whiskey.

Aged in oloroso sherry and bourbon barrels, then finished in marsala casks, this 12-year-old offers rich butterscotch tones plus a hint of milk chocolate studded with almonds and toasted coconut. Still, it lands lightly, cut with grapefruit peel astrungency.

Bushmills has developed considerable experience in marsala cask finishing, so this release marks a distinctive new addition to the spectrum of flavors of their core range. Dark, sweet, juicy aromas of plum, damson jam, clove, peppercorn, citrus, mixed peel, grilled peach, sultana, and walnut oil precede a full-bodied whiskey with flavors of date loaf, sweet fig, chocolate orange, oak tannins, black tea, walnut, sweet wine, and runny honey.Editor's Choice. No.16 in Top 20 of 2022.
