Founded in A in 1584 by Pierre Gosset, Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne. It also remains one of the most prestigious, considered by many collectors and connoisseurs as the world’s preeminent name in luxury champagne.
Tasting notes
Color - A clear, radiant and glimmering golden hue, with fine, light bubbles. Bouquet - Intense and complex, fresh and well-balanced. A delicately perfumed bouquet of daffodils, irises, chamomile blossom lead to ripe notes of black cherries. The nose opens up to hints of sweet spices and vanilla married with hints of marzipan. Taste - This full-bodied, mature wine is generous and concentrated on the palate, which, on first taste, bursts with warm hints of figs and candied cherries. Floral notes add sweetness and sophistication. Exceptional flavors of Melba toast, roasted almonds and lightly roasted coffee quickly emerge for exceptional complexity. The long, concentrated finish is marked by sweet aromas of chestnut puree and caramel, concluding with remarkable crispness.

Rich and toasty, with honey and roasted almond notes layered with flavors of baked peach, orange blossom, brioche and pastry cream. A harmonious Champagne, featuring a refined mousse and bright acidity. Drink now through 2020.-A.N.

The NV Brut Grande Reserve opens with a bouquet of chalk, slate and wet stones. It is a beautifully pointed, energetic wine endowed with gorgeous drive from start to finish. Red berries, dried flowers and mint are some of the nuances that inform the finish. This is Lot # L0428123. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2016. ”

Grosset has fashioned a non-vintage Grand Reserve Brut offering pleasant, yeasty bread notes intermixed with spicy pears, apple skins, and grapefruit. Medium-bodied, crisp, and impressively-endowed, it should be consumed over the next 4-5 years.

Wine maker notes
Gosset’s reputation for excellence starts on the vines. Its champagnes are composed almost entirely of grapes from Premier Cru and Grand Cru vineyards. Unlike most champagne producers, this illustrious wine house purposely avoids malolactic fermentation and always performs riddling and disgorging of prestige cuvees and large-format bottles by hand. Gosset champagnes are made with infinite care and kept in deep cellars for at least three years - and up to five or more for vintage and prestige cuvees - before release.

Technical notes
Grape Varieties - 43% Chardonnay, 42% Pinot Noir and 15% Pinot Meunier sourced entirely from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards. Chardonnay is sourced from Grand Cru vineyards in Mesnil Sur Oger, among Premier Cru vineyards. The Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier come from the Grand Cru vineyards of A , Ambonnay, Bouzy, and Verzenay. Vinification - A blend of three superior vintages and an excellent representation of the distinctive house style of Gosset. The wine spends approximately 5 years resting on the lees prior to release.

Food pairing
A perfect companion to poultry, fowl, duck, rabbit, roasted or grilled lamb and veal, served with a flavorful sauce.
