Chateau La Conseillante Description

Discover the epitome of elegance with Chateau La Conseillante Pomerol, a wine that defines the very essence of its region. With a 300-year legacy, La Conseillante offers an incomparable expression of the Pomerol terroir. Nestled on the Catusseau plateau, our vineyard showcases a rare patchwork of soil types, masterfully tended for generations. Developed by Marielle Cazaux and consultant Michel Rolland, this wine captures the nuanced characteristics of each vine plot through individualized harvesting, vinification, and aging. Relish a glass where Merlot entwines with Cabernet Franc to create a velvety texture, bold aroma, and unparalleled finesse.

Upon first sip, be greeted by a luxurious bouquet of black cherries, plums, and delicate hints of violet. Earthy undertones of truffle and wet soil reveal themselves as the wine opens, testament to the diverse clays that nurture our vines. The palate offers a sumptuous blend of richness and smooth tannins, leaving an enduring finish that echoes notes of cocoa and cedar.

La Conseillante is a symphony in a bottle, best savored with dishes that enhance its complexity. Enjoy with filet mignon or duck confit, garnished with a cherry reduction. For a vegetarian alternative, consider a wild mushroom risotto. Either way, the flavors come alive, creating a gastronomic experience you won't soon forget.

Pomerol just would not be Pomerol without La Conseillante at its heart. Experience a wine crafted by generations of vision and savoir-faire. Cheers!

Wine Advocate: 97 Points

The 2015 La Conseillante is extraordinarily pure and elegant on the nose. a little more red fruit than black fruit, extremely elegant with great clarity. At first, wild strawberry and cranberry, then crushed stone, a touch of black truffle and tobacco. Medium-bodied, fresh and elegant with fine tannin on the entry. good backbone here with a structured finish.
