Aromas of blueberries and blackberries with hints of sliced mushroom. Full and round with chewy tannins. Give this four or five years to soften. Tight and structured.
Densely tannic, although with the fruit weight to sustain the wine. It is packed with ripe flavors, very berry, very firm, finishing with juiciness. (91-93 points, Wine Enthusiast)
An amped-up style, with dark, weighty, frankly toasty layers of blackberry, plum and currant fruit giving way to black licorice on the finish. Offers more raw power than finesse and relies on toast more than acidity, but this is a solid example of the style. (89-92 points, Wine Spectator)
Wow. This shows a wonderful core of intense, ripe fruit and velvety tannins. Loads of berry, chocolate and toasted oak. A joy to taste young. Hard to decide if it's better than 2009 at this stage. (94-95 points, James Suckling)
