Produced in Budapest, Hungary, Unicum Zwack is an ultra premium herbal liqueur produced from over forty natural herbs and spices from all over the world, according to a secret recipe that has been in the family for over two hundred years. Created by Dr. Joseph Zwack, a royal physician to the Imperial Court of Hungary who offered the Emperor this delicate drink distilled from herbs, his secret formula remains heavily guarded by the Zwack family to this day. They won`t even tell us what it is. They will only reveal these parts of the process. The ingredients are macerated for thirty days and then distilled. The final product is aged for a minimum of six months in oak casks to create its inimitable flavor and harmony. After two centuries, two world wars, the holocaust and forty-five years of communist tyranny, two tastes of Unicum Zwack and you will see why it`s still today considered the national drink of Hungary. We say two tastes because Unicum is an acquired taste. But be careful, because two tastes of Unicum Zwack will definitely lead to addiction.

Tasting notes

Golden amber color. Rich aromas of honeyed herbal bark and roots and stewed cherries follow through to a round, sweet medium-to-full body with honeyed raisin and spice notes and a long, tangy candied tangerine peel, herb and cinnamon bark fade. A nice digestif.

Zwack is the oldest shot in the World since 1790. Zwack is a high-quality shot made from over 40 herbs and spices. Zwack is a shot whose spirit has survived over 200 years, the Great War, the Second World War, as well as 40 years of communist control. The Hungarian border can be outlined twice with shot glasses to equal the amount of Zwack, the Hungarian people consume a year.
