This fun and informal seminar is a great introduction to the world’s greatest sparkling wine region. Learn the basics of champagne, including the importance of the grapes, land, climate, and viticultural techniques. We’ll explore the different sub-regions and terroirs of Champagne, and delve into the labor-intensive winemaking process that makes these wines the world’s benchmark for sparkling wines.
Our Champagne expert, Danielle O'Brien, will give you a good overview of the region and introduce you to the five key regions of Champagne and the different champagne styles in all areas of the world and differentiate what qualifies a wine to be Champagne vs cava vs prosecco, etc.
Guests will begin by hearing the history of Champagne, what it was like when it was first created, how it became what it is now. Danielle will lead us through the five sub-regions of the Champagne area and explain where the grapes are grown and explain the different ways to make Champagne.
Hone your sight, smell and taste as we sample five great Champagnes over the course of the class.
