Organic Wines
Organic wines generally exclude the use of artificial chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides and herbicides. Biodynamic winemaking refers to both the agricultural methods and the handling and processing of the fruit post-harvest. Sustainable winemaking practices consist of using natural fertilizers, composting and the cultivation of plants that attract insects that are beneficial to the health of the vines. Natural winemakers although not meeting organic criteria, think their methods are superior and choose to label themselves as 'Natural' wines.
