||The company La Bandita and Lunadoro started in Val d’Orcia with cereal production and then there was the opening of the farmhouse, after which they bought the company Pagliareto at Valiano di Montepulciano with 10 hectars of vineyards for producing the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
From here they restructured the winery with the modern technology for the vinification and the traditional oak barrels for the ageing. Dario Cappelli and Gigliola Cardinali owners of La Bandita and Lunadoro have many things in common. First of all they are husband and wife, which could be enough , but they are also both children of farmers that have always loved the land and the work that they do. Becoming wine producers was the most natural decision they made but also the most difficult. They are enthusiastic, which is a good base to start with.
The tenuta of Pagliareto extends on the ridge of Valiano, in the area of Montepulciano in Valdichiana. It consists in 60 hectars of land in which 12 hectars are vineyards, which have the perfect weather conditions for the production of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. In 2012 we are celebrating 10 years,(of production). The owners are a dynamic couple Dario Cappelli and Gigliola Cardinali from Val d’Orcia, who have passion for agriculture which has been inherited from both of their families who have always been farmers. Their enologist is Maurizio Saettini who has a lot of experience with the traditional Sangiovese grape in this area. Their wines are known internationally and today the distribution in Europe (worldly) is increasing and is liked by the Vino Nobile lovers. They have a modern wine cellar, very technological and it is all family run by. In their originary territory of Pienza, immersed in the ”Natural and Cultural Artistic Park of the Val d’Orcia” where their main company is situated “La Bandita e Lunadoro” have an agriturismo and they produce Cereals (grain) that allow them to offer an excellent product of home-made pasta of the Val d’Orcia.
